Brandon and Byshottles Parish Archive

Brandon and Byshottles Parish Archive was founded by John Kitching in 1994 to collect and establish a Photographic Record of the Brandon and Byshottles Parish which is contained in the City of Durham district in County Durham, North East England.

The Archive contains images of the villages showing the industrial and social heritage of the area. They also hold collections of various local memorabilia. Mining artefacts are their main theme and they get many requests to exhibit their memorabilia and photographs and they welcome these enquiries.

The group's project concentrated on the formation of a web site. The aim was to construct and develop a web site which would assist those interested on the local history of the Brandon and Byshottles area. The web site has sections dedicated to photographs, brief histories, memorabilia and other local groups.
