Chester le Street: Up and Down the Street

The aims of the Heritage Group’s Up and Down The Street project are:

1. Research, record and preserve information and memories about the Front Street
2. Raise awareness and educate the public about the history and heritage surrounding the Front Street over the last one hundred years or so.

Heritage Lottery Funding will enable members to do this by:

• Reach out to the local community for memories
• Record oral history
• Research documents and use the local archives
• Put on exhibitions and displays
• Make an archive of photographs and videos
• Produce a book
• DVD’s/ videos to be distributed to contributors
