London Community Video Archive

The London Community Video Archive (LCVA) is preserving the work of the Community Video movement in the 1970s and 80s.

In the early 1970s portable video recording equipment became available, and for the first time it was possible for individuals and communities outside of mainstream broadcasting to make their own television. Our aim is to draw attention to these unheard voices and images trough our website, and to enable them to be used as a resource for contemporary debates and activism.

The site at the moment contains around 60 archived videos, over 25 oral history interviews, numerous scanned documents, links and screening reports.
