Milton Brown

One of my favourite quotes is:

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly.

(Dr Martin Luther King Jr.)

For forty years, I have incessantly dedicated my working life to challenging all forms of inequality. Since the 1990s, my work has been undertaken nationally, internationally, and performed within the grassroots communities, public, private, and voluntary sectors as a Diversity and Inclusion Specialist/Consultant.

In 2011, I fulfilled a four-week United Nations Fellowship for People of African Descent. Currently, I am in the final year of my PhD in History and Philosophy. My studies accentuate autoethnographic research of how African Caribbean British descendants have navigated race and constructed their identities in Britain from the 1960s to the present.

Kirklees Local TV

I am the current CEO of Kirklees Local TV, and one of our primary tasks is to digitally showcase, amplify minority and marginalised groups cultures and voices. In 2020, KLTV achieved the CAHG Award for Preserving Community Heritage.

I feel profoundly proud and privileged to be a Committee Member and look forward to making CAHG the very best it can be for all our members. CAHG is diverse in its orientation and endeavours to provide outstanding services in celebrating, supporting, and preserving local history with its members nationally. I feel my digital skills and dedication to inclusion and equality embedded with CAHG’s objectives offer an exciting future for our members.
