Hot on the news that a pilot CAHG Scotland is to be formed, they are now starting to think about training events and creating resources to meet the needs of their Scottish members.

Already planned for later this year is a one day training event on the identification and care of sound and moving image collections. They are collaborating with the National Library of Scotland’s Unlocking Our Sound History Project. One of ten regional hubs delivering an ambitious five year project headed by the British Library and funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund, CAHG are currently in conversation with the other nine regional sound hubs based in England, Ireland and Wales, and hope to provide similar training events for CAHG members and groups. It is an opportunity to celebrate UNESCO World Day for Audio-Visual heritage on the 27th October. Do please keep checking for further details about this event, which will be released later.

Scottish Council on Archives have already held a similar day, and you can learn more about it on their website.
