The Ulster History Circle places commemorative blue plaques in public places all over Ulster in honour of men and women who have contributed to its history, whether at home or abroad. The plaques are usually on the place where the person was born, lived or worked.

The Ulster History Circle Archive includes -

  • The Dictionary of Ulster Biography containing the names and brief details of over 1,800 notable people since the earliest times until the early 1990s. The Dictionary is currently being updated and the new, more comprehensive edition will also be on-line. The entries are indexed by name and location. The alphabetical name index is linked to the entries and names are cross-linked where appropriate.
  • Short biographies of the 98 people commemorated by a blue plaque since the Circle was formed over 25 years ago. In most cases there is an image of the person concerned as well as that of the plaque and the building.
