From the Milton Keynes Heritage Association website

The Living Archive holdsĀ the unique and moving letters of Albert French, a 16 year old Wolverton boy who ran away to join the army in 1915. He was killed just before his 17th birthday in 1916. The original letters have inspired a play, Radio 4 documentary, and Theatre in Education production.

The story of Albert French, including facsimiles of all of the letters and the work they have inspired can be seen at the Milton Keynes Heritage Association website.
