Riverside Theatre Archive

Coleraine, Northern Ireland

The Riverside Theatre was one of only two theatres open during the Troubles (the other being the Grand Opera House in Belfast). The Riverside Archive covers 35 years of history as a venue for the whole community, on the University of Ulster Coleraine campus.

We hold material on the career of James Nesbitt, currently Chancellor of the University of Ulster, and Patron of our Youth Theatre.  The collection contains some 2,800 records to date, inventoried by a volunteer - Mrs Denise Dunn over the past three years, and is currently in the process of being catalogued in preparation for an exhibition in 2012.
