The impact of Brexit on community archives and heritage groups regarding data protection
March 15, 2021 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM at Online
Join Gillian Mapstone, Head of Records and Archives Engagement at National Records of Scotland who will explain what Data Protection is and how it affects your community archive or heritage group. This session is most useful for anyone working or volunteering in a community heritage organisation which handles data protection or digitisation of archival collections. This includes letters and photographs. For your group, this may be people from anywhere in the world interested in local history or researching their family history.
Gillian will highlight any changes necessary to your groups’ policies and procedures, and ensure you understand the changes to keep within the law when allowing anyone access to your community archive. This includes online catalogues and databases.
