A tale of a time capsule - The University of Stirling, growth and redevelopment.
March 4, 2020 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM at The National Wallace Monument
In June 1969 the University of Stirling completed the construction of the Gannochy Sports Pavilion, part of the first phase of building on the new university campus. As part of the opening ceremony for the building a time capsule was sealed within its walls. In November 2018 the time capsule was rediscovered during a major redevelopment of the university’s sports facilities.
Join Karl Magee, University of Stirling Archivist, on Wednesday 4th March, as he tells the story of the time capsule and traces the early years of growth and development of the new University of Stirling in the shadow of The National Wallace Monument.
