Great Mongeham is a small rural village in East Kent, close to the Cinque Port town of Deal. Over many years, clergymen, schoolteachers and villagers have collected documents, photos, newspaper articles and memories.
The Great Mongeham Society has become the custodian of this material and a team from the society has now created a catalogue with the aim of sharing the history of the village through a website.
Our village has a rich heritage of farming, brewing, maritime and mining families. The group continues to research and record, welcoming contributions and requests for information.
The Great Mongeham Society holds regular talks, walks, exhibitions and family events.
