The Gellet Society
KY11 3EG, Fife, Scotland, United Kingdom
The Gelllet Society was formed in October 1990 to allow residents of the local community (Charlestown & Limekilns), with an interest in local history and heritage, to meet on a monthly basis.
The Society organises a speaker for each meeting and takes an active role in archiving information such as old photographs of the area and anything to do with the industrial heritage of the villages.
This includes a collection of 35mm slides that was gathered by Norman Fotheringham over a number of years. The collection was donated to the Gellet Society in 2015 and subsequently sorted & digitized in 2018.
The Society’s focus is on the history and heritage of Charlestown, Limekilns and the district lying south and west of Dunfermline.
