Stirling Council Archive

Stirling Council Archive
We look after the records of the current Stirling Council and its predecessor bodies.  We hold the records of Stirling Burgh, Stirling County, Perth County and the burghs of Bridge of Allan, Dunblane and Doune, as well as church records for Stirling and Clackmannanshire, newspapers, school records and parish records…..

We also hold a large, diverse and vibrant collection of private deposits – records from clubs and societies, families, estates, private individuals, businesses, photographs, maps and plans….

Our main task is to acquire, preserve and make publicly available the documentary evidence of our area.  Anyone may use the service and access to the records is free of charge.

Services we provide:

  • 30 minutes free research for all customers
  • paid research service on request
  • exhibitions, talks and outreach projects
  • advice on record storage and preservation
  • digital copies of records
  • volunteering opportunities
  • student and pupil placements and work experience

Friendly, helpful staff are always on hand to help and advise!
