Our Stevenage is part of the Herts Memories network of community archives. It has been funded by the Heritage Lottery fund as part of the Making Memories project.
Stevenage was the first of the new towns to be designated under the 1946 New Towns Act. Many current residents of the town grew up while the town was still being built. Until recent times, the town was the site of several major industrial companies. The aim of the project is to preserve the memories of past and present inhabitants and workers as well as encourage local groups to showcase Stevenage related projects.
This site is being developed by local volunteers in partnership with Stevenage museum and the local library.
