Mount Blair Community Archive

Mount Blair Community Archive (MBCA) is a project that began in February 2013. We aim to establish an archival resource which will help encourage and facilitate learning and appreciation of the local heritage by all sections of the community, and will ensure that historical materials are preserved for future generations.

MBCA is a digital archive and our website makes available a rich display of photographs, oral histories, and historical articles. Oral history interviews enable us to capture the stories of those who have lived there for many years and photographs show how life has changed over the years.

By asking for donations of material, working with the local school, recruiting volunteers, and by holding open days to display material, we hope to actively involve members of the community at every level.

The project was initiated by the Mount Blair Community Development Trust and is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Drumderg Community Benefit Fund (Scottish & Southern Electricity).
