Mid Norfolk Railway

Molly Green's Cottage
Last train to run on the line, 1969.
Dereham Station in 1910.

The Mid Norfolk railway archive began by holding reunions for people who worked on the line and as a result collected many photographs and documents related to it. Their aim is to preserve these as well as people’s memories for those in the future. In doing so they aim to educate all age groups and ethnic populations about the importance of the railway to Dereham and the area it served.

The archive is the early stages of organisation and is largely made up of photographs. The archive is keen to encourage people to keep and maintain records. The photographs range from the line as it has been restored today as well as photographs of historical interest that show the line as it was in the past.

The Mid Norfolk Railway runs between Dereham and Wymondham and is entirely volunteer run.
