Leas Pavilion Archive

The unique Grade II listed Leas Pavilion (Club) on Folkestone’s iconic Leas promenade has fallen into disrepair. The Friends of the Leas Pavilion are promoting a campaign to restore the building as a heritage asset but, while these plans are under development, a permanent community archive was launched in April 2019 to preserve and share the history of the Pavilion and Club and make it available to all.

The Archive holds a performance listing of productions held at the venue together with a growing list of theatre programmes, posters, photographs and other memorabilia relating to the building from its beginning in 1901 as an Edwardian Tea Room through its time as a repertory theatre and eventually a social club before it closed in 2010.
