Goonhilly Heritage Society Archive

Formed to preserve the history of Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station which is a large radiocommunication site located at Goonhilly Downs near Helston on the Lizard peninsula in Cornwall, England, UK.

It was at one time the largest satellite earth station in the world, with more than 25 communications dish antennas in use, at service peak linking the UK to 79 countries over two-thirds of the world. The site also had terminals for four sub-sea cables, terminals for Mobile Land, Sea & Air services, and satellite hub systems for international companies.
