Crediton Area History & Museum Society have 1,000s of manuscripts, photographs, postcards and other artifacts in our local archive collection including:
- Family Papers
- Memorial Inscriptions
- Property Manuscripts
- Old maps of the Crediton area
- Documents relating to Crediton-based charities and Crediton Parish Church
The archive includes items from Crediton and many surrounding villages in Mid-Devon: Bow, Cheriton Bishop, Cheriton Fitzpaine, Clannaborough, Coldridge, Colebrooke, Down St.Mary, Eggesford, Hittisleigh, Kennerleigh, Lapford, Morchard Bishop, Newton St Cyres, Nymet Rowland, Poughill, Sandford, Shobrooke, Stockleigh English, Stockleigh Pomeroy, Tedburn St Mary, Thelbridge, Upton Hellions, Whitestone, Woolfardisworthy East and Zeal Monachorum.
Items can be brought to you by arrangement in our research centre at Crediton Museum where you can also access microfiche copies of parish registers and tithe maps for Crediton and surrounding parishes.
Research Centre opening hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays 10am to 1pm
Exhibitions run from Easter to October 10am-4pm Wednesday to Friday and 10am-1pm on Saturday
