Comunn Eachdraidh Nis was the first historical society to be set up in the Western Isles in 1977 and has an established track record and a reputation for delivering innovative projects.
The organisation has developed an asset for the North Lewis community within the former Cross Primary School. It houses a vast local archive depicting all aspects of island life, including genealogical records for the North Lewis area, an accredited museum, gift shop and cafe.
