Christchurch History Society
Join us to study local history in the community.
We are custodians of a large archive of materials (some 20,000 documents, photos, maps, etc.) relating to Christchurch and its history. These are held in an upper room in the Priory Church itself.
In normal times we hold ten monthly evening meetings from September to June. Our talks are usually on local history or historical events affecting Christchurch. We also run Guided Walks in the summer around historic Christchurch.
Forthcoming Evening Lectures
(These are usually held at Christchurch Junior School Hall, but the coronavirus pandemic has caused their suspension. Instead, we are holding virtual meetings using Zoom. Please go onto our website for details of forthcoming meetings.)
