Ash Heritage Centre

The Heritage Centre is sited at Ash Village Hall. It aims to collect and provide access to historic documents and photographs relating to the village of Ash.

Ash Heritage Centre is open on Saturday mornings 10a.m. to 12 noon. We have a wide range of photographs, old deeds, maps, newspapers, DVDs and artefacts which are slowly being catalogued.

We hold two talks of local heritage interest a year, usually also a heritage visit and an exhibition. We arrange heritage walks during the Sandwich Festival . We have close partnerships with village organisations, holding many of their records such as the cricket club, Ash society, the Parish Council and the W.I.

Recently we have worked closely with the local schools providing workshops, storytelling and heritage walks that fit the history and geography curriculum. The library is next door in the village hall and we are open at the same time, we have given them a storytelling session also based on our photos and artefacts .We work with the local church, the local drama group and the village hall committee, producing dramatic presentations and exhibitions based on the archives we hold and the stories they tell.
