Brass Bands Archive

The Brass Bands Archive records over a century of brass band history in Britain and internationally.

The collection includes over 100,000 items from the mid-19th century to early 21st century; including material recording the relationship between banding and industry; records relating to the history of brass band contests; photographs, uniforms, scrapbooks and other ephemera relating to a number of bands and banding individuals; a wealth of brass band publications; over 1000 vinyl records and 4 wax cylinders; and an extensive collection of sheet music.

The Brass Bands Archive is currently held on deposit at Heritage Quay, University of Huddersfield.
