Chrishall Village Archive is a collection of documents, photographs and artefacts relating to the village of Chrishall in the top north west corner of Essex.

The collection has been built up through many years. Most of the current collection was gathered by the village historian, Mrs Irene Cranwell, from the 1950s until 2010 when she passed away.

The Archive now has a physical home in the centre of the village as well as a digital home with a website where people can contribute their memories and stories of the village. More photographs and documents are coming in all the time to add to the collection. The Archive itself is open for event days during the year (please see the website for details and below) and can be opened on request.

Saturday 9th May, 2-5pm – Chrishall House Histories and some family history tracing. If you have been thinking about tracing your family history drop in for some pointers on how to get started.

Saturday 6th June, 2-5pm – A Wartime feel as we look at how the two World Wars affected Chrishall – possibly more than you may realise!

And of course, our website is always open at www.chrishallesssex.co.uk
