Access to Volunteering Fund Pilot

This pilot aims to increase the number of disabled people in volunteer positions by breaking down the barriers they currently face when wanting to volunteer, such as specific equipment, a lack of suitable access and understanding of disability issues.

The pilot will operate initially in three test areas - Greater London,West Midlands and the North West.

The fund is open to public or third sector organisations that work with volunteers. Awards of between £250 and £5,000 will be available between autumn 2009 and spring 2011 and an average grant of £2,000 is anticipated.  

The final deadline for applications is 6th September 2010.
