Community Archives and Heritage Group

Become a member

We would like to invite you to become a member of the Community Archives and Heritage group (CAHG). There is no charge and membership will give you:

• preferential booking for our conferences (which get booked up!)
• the right to apply for travel bursaries to our events
• a voice in how we support and promote community archive and  heritage groups

Why do we want you to become a member?

CAHG has been running for several years now. We have organised three successful conferences and set up the communityarchives.org.uk website. We are trying to support community heritage groups as best we can. For example, we are developing cataloguing guidelines and we are planning an award scheme to run next year.

Until June 2009, the group was run on a informal basis by a group of interested volunteers and professionals. To help us represent community archives and give us a proper foundation, we have adopted a constitution and are now recruiting members. That's why we'd like you to join. There is no fee at the moment, because we are supported by the National Council on Archives.
