Community archives and identities: documenting and sustaining community heritage

Applications are invited for the position of Research Assistant in the School of Library, Archive and Information Studies at University College London to work on a new and important Arts & Humanities Research Council-funded research project, examining the impacts of community archives and community heritage projects within Black and Minority Ethnic communities and investigating the relationship between such initiatives and the formal archival and heritage sectors.

The Research Assistant will carry out the desk research using library and internet resources, conduct detailed ethnographic case studies, and organise / moderate focus group discussions. You will also arrange and conduct interviews with those involved in community archives, maintain a project website and be responsible for the initial analysis of data and the reporting of results. You will be encouraged to participate fully in the writing up and dissemination of the results of the research as part of a collaborative team.

London Allowance.
