The Group and volunteers aim to complete a recording of the memorial inscriptions in Arlecdon Churchyard, and then produce a database with the information collected.

A launch event and exhibition will be held to stimulate interest. The group will research the lives of past and present inhabitants of the village and produce a book. Local school children and the Youth Club will assist with the interviewing of the senior citizen's group in an oral history exercise. A DVD will also be produced showing locations, interviews being undertaken as well as a pictorial record. Workshops will be held with professional tuition in IT and historical research techniques. The project will be included on the Frizington community website to facilitate the gathering and disseminating of information and lasts until January 2008.

Just a courtesy note to let the Arlecdon Local History Group know that I am doing a full database and photograph exercise on Hensingham New Cemetery. While doing that I have found the gravestone for Revd Joseph Fullerton (Vicar 1798 to 1829) and family, which you may not be aware of. It is grave 1L7. It is there because he lived at Whelpside (Hensingham) while Vicar of Arlecdon. He is actually buried in an unknown grave at St. Nicholas, Whitehaven.
