Digital Handsworth Project was financed by the New Opportunities Fund (NOF) and provides a multimedia resource guide to the history of the community in the ancient parish of Handsworth.

The project improves access to material of historical significance and captures and preserves ephemeral resources such as photographs, personal documents and film in the possession of archives, libraries, museums and the community. The development of the area from a rural village with mediaeval origins to the present day is explored. Community involvement is an important element of this project. Through a series of activities held at appropriate venues in the community, local people will be encouraged to use and contribute to the archive.

The NOF funding ended in April 2006 but resources will continue to be added to the site by community volunteers.
