The UK National Inventory of War Memorials is a registered charity working to compile a record of all war memorials in the UK and to promote their appreciation, use and preservation.

We currently hold details of 60,000 memorials located throughout the United Kingdom.  They commemorate all wars from the Roman Occupation to the present day and range from familiar community crosses and statues to less common memorials like bus shelters, sundials, park benches and even an island.

War memorials provide insight into not only the changing face of commemoration but also military history, social history and art history.

Information is held in an online database and paper archive and new memorials are being added all the time.
