WCML.

The Working Class Movement Library, which is based in Salford, is a repository for a large collection of books, periodicals, pamphlets, and archive material relating to the labour movement in Britain from the late eighteenth century onwards. The collection reflects the rich history, experiences, struggles, aspirations and talents of the working people of this country.

The Library holds an extensive range of trade union material, from the brushmakers' unions of the 1790s to large general unions of today like the GMB.

Special collections include Thomas Paine, the Peterloo Massacre, Chartism, Irish politics and history, and women's emancipation.

The library, to which admission is free, is open Tuesday to Friday and by arrangement on the third Saturday of the month.
