This comprehensive collection contains background and historical information for the small village of Berney Arms in Norfolk. As well as introducing this small village this collection also includes materials on its better known neighbour Great Yarmouth. There is a large focus on railway transportation in the area, supported by an extensive online photography collection as well as extracts from 19th Century mapping.
The collection includes many photographs of and information about local sites and attractions including the river and windmill as well as a collection of maps dating from 1871 to 1997 which provide a fascinating insight as to how the town has changed and developed.
For those interested in the history of the railway there is a railway memorabilia section which provides timetables dating back as far as 1844.
This archive also includes a large collection of personal recollections made by both past and present residents of Great Yarmouth covering events from accidents on the railway line to escaping flocks of sheep.
