History of Tetbury Society

The History of Tetbury Society was formed to provide a focus for historical research activity within the town of Tetbury in the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, UK. Tetbury has a recorded history dating back to 681 AD.

With the help of the Local Heritage Initiative and a local software consultant, the Society has begun a project to convert its archives into an electronic format.

The first phase of this project has delivered a web based search facility, the Online Archive Index.This allows the existing archive index to be searched both online and in a format that can be transferred onto a home computer. This service is free.

The next phase aims to transfer all the documents in the archive into an electronic format and will begin shortly.
