Time Tracks community archive

The Time Tracks community archive preserves the railway history and local history of Shildon and the surrounding area through the documents and memories of the local community.  There are approximately 250 records on the archive, which include historic pictures and documents relating to Shildon Wagon Works; the 1975 Steam Cavalcade at Shildon; Locomotion: the National Railway Museum at Shildon and the railways of the local area.  The records date from the mid-19th century to the present day.

Locomotion and the Time Tracks coffee morning group are appealling for anyone who has original records and photographs relating to Shildon and the local area to help build the archive by visiting the museum during its normal opening hours, or by attending one of its coffee morning sessions.  There are two archive terminals located at Locomotion: the National Railway Museum at Shildon that can be used by members of the public.  There are monthly coffee morning sessions held at the museum that are free for visitors to attend in order to learn more about the archive.  Contact Locomotion 01388 777999 for further information.

In the second picture of five men, Jimmy Mulley, my dad, is front left kneeling, having a fag break!  Anyone help with the names of his mates?  My e-mail is harlequin.dev@btopenworld.com. Cheers!
