Benfleet Community Archive started in June 2010 as a partnership with the Essex Record Office and Essex County Council Libraries, and run by a team of people from South Benfleet. It is sponsored by the Lottery Heritage Fund.

The Archive was formally launched at Benfleet Methodist Church on Saturday 5th March 2011 by the Mayor of Castlepoint Cllr. David Cross with our MP Rebecca Harris also attending. A description and photographs appears on our sister site www.canveyisland.org.
