Inspiration

Do you have ideas or good practice to share?

Tell us about an inspiring project or activity that your group may have done that you think other groups could usefully learn from.

The aim of this category is to discover ideas and good practice that could be shared between community archives or heritage groups. The activity or project entered could be part of the day to day activity of the group or be a one off.

The project or activity may have had a particular impact on others.

You may have used a prize object or document from your collection in an interesting way to have inspired or widened interest in your group or in local history or it may have been used for original research.

You will be assessed against your evidence of the following information:

  • How clearly the project has been described in the application;
  • The originality of the project;
  • Clarity in defining the target audience and in delivering the  project;
  • The impact that the project has had on the target audience: e.g. numbers of participants, visitors, web hits; feedback from the target group;
  • The possibility of the project being inspirational to other groups.

 You are welcome to expand and include other information in your submission.

This category is looking for projects that are trail-blazing, ones that have tried something completely new and have succeeded. Entries might, for example, be new ways of collecting or presenting collections on line; they might describe technical innovations; or they might be about new ways of engaging with the public.

Again, the judges will be looking for ideas that could be shared between community archives or heritage groups. The activity or project entered could be part of the day to day activity of the group or be a one off.

You will be assessed against your evidence of the following information:

  • The degree of innovation;
  • The impact that the project has had on the target audience: e.g. numbers of participants, visitors, web hits; feedback from the target group;
  • The impact that the project has had on the group and its future plans;
  • The possibility of the project being used as a model by other groups
