The History of Ewyas Lacy

The aim of the Ewyas Lacy Study Group is to provide access to historical records relating to an area of south-west Herefordshire and the Welsh Marches anciently known as Ewyas Lacy. Our website contains fully searchable archive documents, photographs  and research papers pertaining to local communities, people, places and culture from prehistoric times to the twentieth century, and forms a foundation for a comprehensive history of the area.

The website contains several thousand individual records and is constantly being updated. The material is presented in a range of formats including summaries, transcripts and downloadable photographs of historical documents, together with published material, research papers and analysis by local historians, articles on themes of local interest and oral histories related by local people.
