A Tale of One City

A Tale of One City was an online community archive for Portsmouth. The website was developed and launched as part of a larger HLF-funded project of the same name, celebrating the 200th anniversary of Charles Dickens’ birth in 2012. Dickens was born at 1 Mile End Terrace, Portsmouth on 7th February 1812.

The online archive was an important part of the legacy of the A Tale of One City project. It aimed to capture the stories of the people of Portsmouth and offer a snapshot into its history.
