The Filmed Record and Community History:

Sharing the experience of finding and using film in the community

On Thursday 8th November 2012 the Community Archives and Heritage Group (CAHG) held their second regional event in conjunction with the Media Archive for Central England (MACE).

The event took place at Europe’s first joint university and public library at Worcester called The Hive and provide an opportunity to explore and discuss moving images in the context of community archives and community history.

For the past two and a half years (MACE) has been running  a project with community partners across the Midlands seeking out film relating to their community and working with MACE to bring it into community use. Representatives from six of the Full Circle History groups involved, made short presentation about their experience of the value of moving image as community heritage.

More information and comments on the day can be found on the Mace Blog
