Story of London

The Story of London, taking place this June, is a festival celebrating the capital’s past, present and future. Organised by the Mayor of London, the celebration will feature a range of events that will take place across the city featuring London life from its ancient origins to the present day.

The festival coincides with 15 years of the Heritage Lottery Fund, and to mark both occasions, the HLF is making available small grants of between £3,000 and £10,000 to support projects that help local organisations, communities and voluntary groups to share their London stories with a much wider audience.

Applicants must apply using the HLF’s existing ‘Your Heritage’ or ‘Young Roots’ programmes but the assessment process and level of grant requests are different.

Application deadline:  9.00am, Tuesday 7th April 2009
Application decision: Friday 1st May 2009
Minimum grant request: £3,000
Maximum grant request: £10,000
